Geocache Description:

A short 1/2 mile hike on the Stony Creek trail ending at the confluence of Stony Creek and the North Fork of the Smith River. I will give driving directions to the trailhead in the last paragraph. If you are one of those that thinks finding the start is half the fun, then don't read the last paragraph!

The cache is in a small ammo can and contains a variety of items, including a geocaching magnet that I made for the first finder.

There is a huge Darlingtonia colony a little farther up the trail if you want to check it out. The coordinates are 41 51.674, 123 57.720.

To get to the trailhead if you are coming from Crescent City: Turn left on Middle Fork Road, turn right on Gasquet Flat Road, cross the Horace Gasquet Bridge, stay left at Azalea Lane (now on North Fork Road), and stay left again at the intersection with Old Gasquet Toll Road. Continue on North Fork Road for 0.8 miles to Stony Creek Trail Road and turn right (road is labelled a dead end). The trailhead is on the right and is well marked.
