Geocache Description:

This ammo box is quite well hidden after a somewhat strenuous climb.

Not sure what the real name for this place is, but folks 'round here call it "Bear Mountain". Or maybe it is "Bare Mountain" for the large clearing at the top. At any rate, the cache is off to the side to keep you out of sight while you find it (this lookout can be quite popular), but once you do find it, go to N45 00.949, W079 28.038 for a tremendous panoramic view of Lake Muskoka. This cache was placed on Canadian Thanksgiving, when the colours were spectacular.

The cache might be tricky to find in the winter, given the amount of snow that falls in these parts. Good luck if you try then.

The initial contents of the cache, which is an ammo box, include a Traveling Globe (#34), and the Annun-randir Travel Bug. Please give these travellers a good home.

Update for 2022

This cache has been there a LONG time. I am thrilled it has survived this long. Sadly, we recently sold our cottage and are no longer in the area, and recent reports suggest the cache contents are pretty lean. While there is the thrill of the chase, it would be fun if someone could volunteer to put in a sturdy log book and pencil, in a sealable bag, to allow an alternate record of "I was here" to be kept.

The hint provides starting location for an easy way up.

Please try to place the cache exactly where you found it. Several times now the cache has been moved by well-meaning geocachers.
