Glow In The Dark 2 Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

Should've bought him the tie: Well, the time has come..... This cache had (IMHO) one of the best actual cache containers around... that is, until it was stolen. After that, it was replaced with a simple micro for the final, just to keep it alive. It has since fallen into disrepair. But, do not despair, some of the parts of this cache live on in a brand new one coming soon by chevyole. He had originally wanted to adopt and rehab this one. Instead, I encouraged him to build a new cache using the parts from this one, now everybody can come back out to enjoy this park again! Thanks chevyole!

Geocache Description:

For those of you who liked "Glow In The Dark", you'll be sure to like this cache as well. It's almost three times longer than the original with a couple of new twists.

This is a night-only multi-cache. The park is open until 10:00 PM  9PM (maybe it has changed, I will check soon to make sure), please be done and gone before then. Some light-duty bushwhacking is required at the beginning and at the very end, but almost all of the way has reasonably wide nice trails. The brighter the flashlight you have, the easier it will be to find this cache.

Park at: N42 58.526 W88 10.723, there is no fee to get in this park from this location. Grab your flashlight, GPSr, and spare batteries for both. Head to the co-ordinates published above, which is waypoint 1 . Once there, scan the surrounding trees with your flashlight until you see a white reflector. On the same tree as that reflector will be a small tag. Yes, there are co-ordinates there, you just have to figure out how to read them. The only tool you need to read them is your flashlight. Please do NOT take the tags apart.

Waypoint 2: Go to the co-ordinates you recorded at the first reflector. Once there, scan the surrounding trees with your flashlight until you see another white reflector. Again, on the same tree as the reflector you will find a tag with another set of co-ordinates.

Waypoint 3: Same instructions as waypoints 1 & 2.

Waypoint 4 to Final: Here you should scan the trees with your flashlight until you find the reflector. Go to that reflector. Instead of finding another tag, you should be able to see the next reflector. From there, keep following the trail of reflectors. Sometimes it may be hard to see the next reflector when standing right under the present reflector. You may have to move and shift a little bit (just adds to the excitement, eh?).

Final Cache: When you see two reflectors on the same tree, you are at the final cache. It is a micro-cache, hidden within 3 ft. of the double reflectors.  The original cache box was really really nifty, so much so that it was stolen.  It has now been replaced with a micro-cache.  Please replace the cache as you found it.

Return to your car: Hopefully you have enough batteries left in your GPSr so you can navigate back to your car. If not, you need to head in generally the Easterly direction. Total hiking distance is about 0.7 miles. Total time should be between 30 and 90 minutes.
