Geocache Description:

Located in the The Betty Allen Twin Ponds Nature Park, Centerport, New York

Parking: N 40' 53.150 W 073' 21.721
This cache is a smaller rubbermaid container. It is hidden in a beautiful nature area off of Rt. 25A in Centerport, NY. It is almost all dirt and sand trails to the cache site, so it should be great for families and newbie geohunters as well. The preserve extends nicely northward and overlooks the southern section of Northport Harbor. If you want to explore more after the cache find, the preserve also extends south of Rt. 25A. Located on Rt. 25A a block East of the parking area is the caches namesake "The Shack" of Centerport. This is a local landmark outdoor grill stand. It's a great place to grab a burger and beer after a day of Geocaching. Original cache contents include: koosh animals, helicopter toys, deck of cards, wheresgeorge bills, happy face pins, and misc other goodies. also the log book with pens, pencils and a sharpener. As always, have fun and enjoy the preserve.
