This cache has been placed in the general vicinity of a waterfall on the Yellow Dog River. The roundtrip hike will be under 1 mile.
Park just off County Road 510 at N46°43.570' W087°42.876' Follow the trails eastward toward the cache. You will likely cross a few log bridges over wet areas, and the trails may be muddy in spots. The cache is in a pretzel jar within hearing distance of the falls. Please rehide the cache well so that the many visitors to the area do not accidentally discover it. Please trade items fairly. Enjoy!
This is a popular area for locals. It has been one of our favorite locations for years. Please bring the whole family, young and old (but not infirm) to enjoy the waterfall area. Take a picnic lunch, swimsuits, lifejackets, towels,... The river is always cold, but bearable in the hotter months. If water levels are good, an area on the right side of the water fall may act as a water slide. It is a lot of fun, but please exercise caution. I recommend life jackets, even for capable swimmers. Remember that medical help is not close by. Wet rock is slippery, and the water can be shockingly cold, especially to children.
