Geocache Description:

This cache is located on Green Creek about 6 miles from Hwy. 395, the road is all hard packed dirt with some nice washboards. Any car should be able to do this road except in winter as the snow is not removed. It is at an elevation of 7600 feet.

This is the site of the first long distance transmission of electric power to Bodie, CA now a State Historic Park. Thomas Leggitt was the person responsible for the idea and eventual building of the power plant at Green Creek. It was called Leggitt's Folley by many. Another interesting fact is that the lines were all run in a straight line because people thought that the power would jump off the lines if it had to turn. Since that time they have learned a lot. To take credit for this cache email me with the answers to the following questions:
1. When was the power first transmitted?
2. How long was the power line?
3. When was the plaque dedicated and by whom?

As usual anyone posting the answers in your log will have it deleted? Of course if you are in the area there is some great fishing available as well as camping and make sure you come and visit Bodie itself to learn more about this interesting area.
