Thoughts of Younger Days Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Blind Umpire: I've needed to do this for some time, but have put off archiving it because it is my last active cache. Unfortunately, the property owner has made application to the city to begin the process of developing this area into medium-density housing. Thank you everyone for your finds; it's been fun! Geocache Description:

Short walk on a flat, wide trail. Suitable for all ages and abilities. Large cache full of things for children. Cache is on private property, owned by a large corporation and geocachers of all ages have permission to access the property.

In the summer of 1973 I was 10 years old and had saved enough money from my paper route to purchase a 1970 Honda 70 motorcycle. In 1973, this area was a mirage of trails and logging roads and I spent every free weekend and every summer exploring them. I recognized every fork in the trail and all the mud puddles to avoid because they were too deep. At one time I could go from the Tacoma Narrows Bridge to Gorst all on trails. Canterwood country club was all but scrub brush and swamp ponds covered in 1970 Honda 70 tire tracks. Pickup trucks were for hauling things with. You'd never expect to see one in the church parking lot on Sunday morning. I knew most everyone in town and you could spot a stranger a mile away. I eventually sold the Honda to a young kid looking for adventure and also so I could finance some mag wheels for my new ride. The paper route turned into an engineering career and the skinny little boy turned into a middle-aged man who remembers what it's like to be a skinny little boy on a Honda 70. I thought I'd place this cache in honor of children everywhere in search of adventure. Park at the orange gate at N47*21.535 W122*35.367 and follow the posted coords to the cache. You're looking for 3-3rd growth fir trees all in a row. The cache is filled to the brim with all new items that children of all ages will enjoy. Please trade up or just sign the log book. Thank you and I hope you enjoy a leisurely walk down one of "my" trails.
