Geocache Description:

Terrain gets VERY wet and muddy in the spring. Nice walk in my favorite park. Lots of tree cover can make this tough. Many skeeters in spring due to the standing water.

Definately will want to make sure your GPS is acquiring satellites prior to moving off the trail on this one. I used the meadow on the NE corner of the trail loop. You can park at the main entrance or, to shorten the walk somewhat, park at Walnut Grove section.

Box is an ammo can wrapped in black plastic. I've put a few CD's in there for exchange and some other cool trinkets. If you get to the golf course, you've gone way too far! The 4-6 ft small trees make it difficult to see the ground at a distance, I had to squat down to peer under the leafs to seek a hide spot.

***Please replace this cache so that the handle is facing up - this will help keep the water out***

The Split Rail Trail cache is in the park nearby and worth the time to see another section of this varied topography park.

UPDATE: 5/9/04: For you woodsy folks out there - on the north side of the culvert, find the deer trail that runs ESE. You may have to circumnavigate the water ditches, but once inside the trees, the deer trail will take you to within about 3 meters of the cache

UPDATE: 6/18/04: Dropped off new logbook, wetnaps, extra black plastic bag. Placed an extra bag around it. Picked up the "Civic Pride" travel bug to take on our Michigan trip.
