The idea for this cache had been simmering on the back burner of our minds for quite awhile, but it took a walkabout (to one of Darkmoon's caches) to finally decide where to place it.

As every good geocacher knows, food in a cache is a definite no-no! But inedible items relating to food are perfectly acceptable, even rather fun. We came up with so many possibilities, they wouldn't all fit in the cache container, which originally was a large camouflaged food storage container, so we switched to an ammo can, which lasted many years... until it was stolen (summer 2014). Grrr. That's Inedible was then switched back to a camouflaged food storage container (just sandwich-sized, unfortunately), but that proved to be not watertight enough, so it was downsized to a waterproof matchstick container (January 2017). Possibly this cache should be listed as a microcache now, though it seems a bit large for the "micro" designation. (?)

In addition to the logbook and pencil, the original contents of the cache included:
a stuffed bell pepper (the inspiration for the cache's theme), 'Joe's Crab Shack' stuffed smiley crab, Chili's coupon (free kid's meal), tomato pincushion, grapevine bookmark, recipe cards, Hamburger Helper car, hanging tomato garden, plastic pineapple, Braums football and flipper game, pumpkin cookie cutter, Elvis Parsley stickers, apple ornament, and a Sonic train.

Replacement contents (10-4-14) included: Oscar Mayer hotdog whistle, banana magnet, small blown glass fruit, mini food-theme erasers, tiny cup, Gingerbread Man (from Shrek), Hard Rock Cafe Skydome button, jack-o-lantern cupcake pick and pencil topper, and a purple twisty spoon.

Replacement contents (1-31-17) included: small fruit-shaped buttons, tiny grapes eraser, tiny hamburger.

(Listing the contents is just to provide you with some ideas for theme-related items, though now that the cache is so small, please don't feel like you need to leave anything more than your name!)
