Kung Fu Kacher #2 -- Buffalo Tail Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Lumberjack Tom: The cache is not missing and appears to be in good shape, but the site has grown over so much as to constitute a bit of a challenge, especially with poison ivy growing rampant on one side. Because I feel this cache will no longer be as much fun to do, I am choosing to archive it. I will also archive the others in the series.

For a brief overview of the 1970's television series, Kung Fu, see Kung Fu Kacher #1 -- Raising Caine.

Po: Whoa! Slowdown, Grasshopper! Why are you in such a hurry?

Caine: Master Po, I have come to borrow one of your rice bags. I need an extra one.

Po: And why do you need an extra rice bag, Grasshopper?

Caine: Zwen-Zi has learned that the farmer down the road has offered his ripe jojofruits to everyone in the Temple. I want to bring back as many as I can.

Po: Are you sure you can carry two rice bags full of jojofruits, Grasshopper?

Caine: Oh yes, Master Po. If the load is too heavy, I’ll just stop and eat some. Besides, if I bring back too many and some spoil, who cares?

Po: Don’t pull too hard on the buffalo tail, Grasshopper.

Caine: What do you mean, Master?

Po: What is more important, Grasshopper: having too many jojofruits today, with little chance of getting more tomorrow, or having jojofruits every day of the season?

Caine: I believe the latter, Master, but I don’t think I see your point.

Po: Once there was a worker in the rice paddies who had a large, strong water buffalo. Whenever the worker needed to have the water buffalo back up, he would gently tug on the beast’s tail, and the water buffalo would back up one slow step after another. One day the worker wasn’t very gentle, and when he pulled on the tail, the water buffalo pulled back. Both the worker and the water buffalo pulled ever harder until, at last, the tail broke off. After that, the water buffalo never backed up again.

Caine: But, Master, I’m talking about jojofruits, not water buffalo.

Po: I’m not talking about water buffalo either, Grasshopper. Now go. Fetch your jojofruits, but don’t pull too hard on the buffalo tail.

This micro is large and irregularly shaped. It was replaced on 07-18-05. The body of the replacement cache is too small to hold a useful writing instrument, so please be sure to bring your own.

Tom Sawyer Park is a wonderful resource for all of us. Please keep it clean and respect its rules. CITO!
