Sapience Trek: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. Geocache Description:

I have permission for this geocache.
In 1996, the West Seneca Town Board wanted to honor Charles E. Burchfield (1893-1967), an internationally recognized American artist who had lived in the Gardenville community of West Seneca. Charles Burchfield was generally " . . . recognized as one of the finest watercolorists of the 20th century." Mr. Burchfield's residence was located across the creek on Clinton Street over looking the now the nature and arts center. The beauty of the area was the inspiration for his painting, "Rain and Wind Through the Tree." In 1998, this area was selected as the site to honor the memory of Mr. Burchfield. The Town of West Seneca purchased the property from the Kasprzyk Family. What had originated as a simple idea for a commemorative monument or plaque to honor the artist eventually was to become an art and nature center. Groundbreaking ceremonies were held late in 1999 and a 5,500 square foot building and a 29-acre park honoring Burchfield were opened in June of 2000. The Charles E. Burchfield Nature and Art Center includes an Interpretive Center, the Youth Center and Americorps offices, a gallery and an outdoor amphitheater for concerts, classes and plays. Walking trails wind throughout the grounds, past the old Ebenezer dam and the old millraces, even passing by the Middle Ebenezer cemetery. There are many benches throughout the park; gardens and a children’s play area. The Center serves as a living educational facility.

Enter the parking lot from Race Street. Starting from any other place will put you on private property. Please respect any other activity that may be going on during your geocaching experience. Be on the lookout for others enjoying the trails.
Free maps of the park are in the rack just as you enter the main building. There is also information on upcoming actives and programs. I have the rated the terrain as a one. You are just making more work for your self if you go off the trails, dogs must be on a leash.
The cache is no longer a 50mm ammo can and is not winter accessible. It has items relating to art and nature. You will also find regular cache items. Please trade accordingly. Please hide the cache where you found it. The first finder will find a certificate and a gold medal. I hope you enjoy this cache as much as my family and I did putting it together.
