No Train, No More. Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

BeDoggy: Unfortunately this cache has been stolen. I would have considered replacing the cache in a slightly different spot but this location has become completely unsuitable for cache placement due to disgusting racist and pornographic graffiti.

Geocache Description:

Located in Fishtrap Creek park. There used to be a railway running through here at the beginning of the last century. Lovely walking trails here.

When you get to the above coordinates, you will find yourself at a structure that was built to commemorate the old B.C. electric "Inter-urban" railway line that linked Fraser Valley communities south of the Fraser River with Vancouver. The structure is built on the old railbed. This railway was used to move agricultural produce from the valley to the city for sale, and was a major factor in establishing the town of Abbotsford.

Find out more about this railway's, and the town's history at: www.abbotsford.com/history

At the cache site there used to be an information kiosk that was removed due to damage by vandals. You are looking for a small lock&lock style container that is fairly well hidden. Within you will find several trade items and a log book. Please make sure that you replace the cache carefully and that it is not visible to casual bystanders.

Happy hunting!
