When I started geocaching, I was amazed at the number of places that I never knew existed in Fort Wayne. I have seen many wonderful things and now my eyes are open to all the things this city has to hold.
In keeping with this idea, I have decided to place a series of caches in the smaller and maybe lesser known parks, playgrounds, and wildlife areas of Fort Wayne. The big parks are nice, but everyone knows about them and, for the most part, there are already caches there. The smaller parks are just as beautiful, but fewer people know that they even exist let alone where they are.
So to help expand the minds the Fort Wayne area cachers and to promote attendance at the city’s parks, I give you The Parks Less Traveled Series.
For this cache you will be looking for an Altoids tin. The park is a small park right off of Jefferson Blvd outside of downtown. There are a coupld of offroad bike trails there. There is a pavilion at the park with what looked like restrooms, but when I was there, the doors were locked up. I am guessing that you have to rent the pavilion to get access to the restrooms.
Once this is found, please send me an update of the area around the cache in case I might need to move it a little. You will understand once you find it. Good luck and have fun. And be sure to bring your own pencil or pen. I didn't have one small enough to stick in the cache. Sorry about that.
