Finders of this cache are to help determine the Al Quacka Industrial Average (ALQUIA). Yermamma been Maudlin has created the ALQUIA in order to track stocks of interest to members of the Al Quacka Sleeper Cell (and ducks in general). As you can imagine, the Al Quacka Average tracks inversely to the Dow Jones Industrial Average (Dow) - what is good for business is seldom good for ducks.
Seekers of this cache will need two items not normally needed for geocaching: 1. knowledge of the most recent closing of the Dow and 2. a compass (or the ability to project a waypoint).
Start in the circle at the coordinates above. You will proceed in opposite directions depending upon the most recent performance of the Dow. If the most recent closing of the Dow was up, proceed 970 ft. (.18 mi.) on bearing 47 degrees to the first subsequent clue. If the most recent closing of the Dow was down, proceed 870 ft. (.16 mi) on bearing 240 degrees to the first subsequent clue. These distances are "as the crow flies." From the starting point there are three sets of intermediate coordinates to find enroute to the cache.
It is not necessary to enter structures, wade creeks, or climb over obstacles to find the cache. Trails or paths or easy walking can take you where you need to go although it at times may seem a bit circuitous. It may be necessary to use hints. Hints provided below are in no particular order and may be used once, twice, or not at all depending upon market performance. None of the hints applies to the actual cache location.
To get credit for the cache, finders are to calculate the Al Quacka Industrial Average and e-mail the results of their calculation to Whitard (Yermamma's agent). DO NOT post these results to the internet. Instructions on how to perform this calculation are in the logbook.
