This cache is placed by permission of DCNR:
This is a hiking trail suitable for the entire family (including
dogs!). Total distance is less than a mile.
This is a replacement cache! The original was a camo laundry bag
in the hollow of an old tree. A Thanksgiving '06 storm blew the
tree down and the cache has gone missing.
The new cache is hidden in a more traditional manner on a very
different part of the trail. Reception there is better, so I
lowered the difficulty rating. The new cache is a shoebox sized
ZipLoc container.
The main attraction is the Interpretive Trail. There are two
dozen posts with numbers on them and a guide that explains what you
are looking at and why it is significant.
This area (nearly all of the forest in this region) is home to
Timber Rattlesnakes. Use appropriate caution, especially in the
warmer months.
Original contents of the replacement cache are a log book and
pencil (of course) and an assortment of dollar store items for
people of all ages. There are a series of geocoins, including a FTF
Geocoin that isn't registered. The FF of the new cache can claim it
and then own it.
