This is a two stage multi cache near the Polo Road athletic fields.
This short little two stage multi might seem like it’ll take a long time once you find the first stage, but it’s not as bad as it looks. The container at the posted location contains the coordinates for the second stage, and it’s just a matter of finding that needle once you’re there.
This athletic park on Polo Road borders another cache friendly park. You may park at North 34 05.000 West 80 53.464.
I need to give credit where it is due. On a recent trip to Atlanta I encountered Mushtang's Needle In A Haystack, and I thought that an idea like that deserved to be shared with others.
Original note: Locally, the tree cover at stage two is a bit thick, and on two different visits separated by several hours I recorded coordinates that were 35 feet apart. Your reception may vary. It's all part of the hunt.
Update note: This legacy cache was first put out by TinSparrow and Mushtang, and later it was adopted by ikim & noj. It was reworked in March 2012 using the original final stage ammo can and logbook, with additional components being provided by blazingbunny and miki (of jon and miki). The tree cover is moderate at both stages and the terrain is sandy with scrub oaks, pines and dogwood trees in the area.
This is a very busy area for folks wandering through this interesting wooded terrain, so it's most important to maintain proper cover on the containers to protect the hide. Thanks for helping out.
