While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time I don’t think we can do so any longer. Therefore, I have archived this cache. If you haven’t done so already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

When repairs to this cache are completed, and it is time to have it listed once again it will be no problem as long as it still meets the guidelines. Just drop me a note( by email at Mongo@geocachingadmin.com) and let me know the GC waypoint number of the cache or better yet, the URL of the cache page. You will still be able to access your cache page just as before by going to your “My Cache Page” and clicking the link of your cache.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and I am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future.

Thanks for your understanding,
Mongo

Geocache Description:

From Highway 7 in Climax Springs take DD, then turn left on West Park.

There’s just something amazing about pure, fresh water gushing out of the earth. No wonder folks have historically assigned magical, healing powers to springs. Such is the case with the 50,000 gallon-per-day discharge of Climax Spring. In 1882, the village of Climax Springs was a booming health spa resort destination. This was an era when many Americans sought relief from chronic afflictions by bathing in mineral waters.

Today, the quiet village is home to about a hundred residents. The spring is within the Climax Springs City Park, a lovely spot for a picnic and a game of catch. After your visit to the spring and finding the cache, drive a bit north on Hockman. That big, white building on the left is the old Climax Springs Hotel. Now turn down Coulter and check out the old stone buildings on what was once the main street. If you use your imagination, perhaps you can visualize the town as it was a century ago, bustling with activity.

The cache container is a small, blackened jar, right where you think it ought to be. A flashlight might prove helpful for finding it.

Thank you for seeking our Climax Springs Cache. Please take a few moments to pick up litter.
