Geocache Description:

This is a multi-cache that will take you on a walk through the entire length of the middle section of Tecolote canyon located in Clairemont. One way distance is approximately 1.2 miles.

If you climb the bump near the first way point you may enjoy a wonderful view of the entire canyon. The rest of the walk after the first way point is mostly level. Do watch out for snakes, especially in summer and the ever present mountain bikers who can come up on you quickly. Also, you should not have any trouble with poison oak unless you leave the trail and then only near the stream. In late fall the poison oak turns a pretty shade of red.

A good parking spot is at Snead and Mt Acadia: N32 47.908 W117 11.343 (after finding the cache if you still have energy, drive down Snead to the golf course to hit a few balls at the driving range). Alternate parking can be had at the end of Mt. Ashmun or Mt. Ariane but these can be harder to find.

My whole family has taken part of creating this cache. We hope you enjoy the peaceful qualities of the canyon as much as we do.
