This cache is dedicated to Boy Scout Troop 40 from
Dallastown PA. It was placed near a large log cabin where we spend a weekend
every fall (this was the 10th annual trip). The weekend is spent playing Night
Capture the Flag, a full course Thanksgiving Dinner, roaring fires and lots of
fun.
Access from Route 322, 35 West through Mifflintown and
Mifflin. In Mifflin, follow Licking Creek Rd for approximately 12 miles to the
Guss Picnic area, where you can park at the trailhead. The last 5 miles or so
are unpaved but very good roads. Parking is at N 40 30.808 W 77 35.788. Great
place for a picnic beside Licking Creek before or after you find the cache.
Cross the creek on the only bridge there is and follow the
red blaze trail. Trail is fairly well marked and easy to follow but watch your
step. There are a few rocks and there could be some soft spots.
The cache is a round type tupperware container with a screw
on lid. It originally started off with assorted Boy Scout patches, and other
related items the scouts dontated.
