The cache is located in the Avery Creek section of Pisgah National Forest just off Avery Creek Trail.
Directions:
From the junction of US 64 and US 276 in Pisgah Forest take US 276 W 2.20 miles to FS 477 (Avery Creek Rd.). Turn right on FS 477 and proceed 2.38 miles to a pull off on the left side of the road, the trailhead for Avery Creek Trail is just south of Parking coordinates N 35 18.896 W082 44.954. Trailhead coordinates N 35 18.888 W082 44.946
A moderate to easy hike of .47 miles will lead you to a “Large Hollow Log”. The cache was placed about 70 to 80 feet uphill of the trail. Your GPS will point you in the right direction and the distance to the cache is pretty good while you are on the trail. When your GPS shows about 150 feet from the cache SLOW DOWN and if you start looking uphill you may see right through a “Large Hollow Log”.
The cache was placed in a Rubbermaid Shoebox container and is filled with exchangeable items. It is covered with bark.
