Located at Cohoate Preserve on the shore of the Hudson River. Trail from the parking lot is steep in places but maintined. Approach from the river is at the old ice house via the Catskill or Hudson public boat launch.
This is the first in a series of caches that can be found via car/trail or paddle/trail. My hope is for paddlers to find this cache by launching from either the Catskill or Hudson public launch areas. The paddle is about 2 miles from either launch. Use caution as water temperatures may be low! Please land at 18 595835E 4677579N UTM.
For the "land-lubber" park at the entrance lot on Rt. 385 and follow the trail down to the River. Pick up an interpretive brochure and check out the trees along the way. The trail (emergency roadway)is steep to the river but gently up and down along the water front.
