This is my first hide. Entitled simply "Ridgefield", it is named after the neighborhood where I grew up. My parents still live there. The cache is a 12x8x4 Rubbermaid container wrapped with camo tape.
This cache is located in a small section of Seneca Creek State Park away from the main park. There are several possible places to pull over in the neighborhood, but I recommend parking on the side of the road at N39 07.062 / W077 15.989. Then follow the path along the power lines for a short distance to N39 07.145 W077 16.136 where you will find a trail to the left that takes you to a lake. There are 'No Trespassing' signs FOR THE POWER LINES, but we have taken this trail to the lake for decades. Walk around the small community lake, the trail into the woods lies ahead.
The lake and nice walk through the woods are the reason this cache is here. When I was growing up, this lake and these woods were our playground. Believe it or not, we used to swim in that lake back in the 70's. It was much nicer and cleaner then. :)
Among the original contents were two travel bugs who began their journeys here: "Little JB" & "ZoBoo"
