Team Reptile: I've decided to finally archive Team Reptile's "Reptile Point" cache - it does appear to be gone as a result of last summer's Myakka River flooding its banks. Thanks to all who found this cache throughout the years; we tried to select a part of Myakka Park that was new to most of you and off the beaten path, and from many of the comments through the years, it seems that we mostly succeeded in this.
We originally hid this cache in the snapped stump of a large tree that was felled during the 2004 Florida hurricane season. Amazingly, in about 5-6 years after we placed the cache, there was absolutely no sign of the original 4'-high stump, or even of the rest of the large tree that had fallen. The dymanic nature of Myakka Park, combined with the wide variety of wildlife and hiking trails, is why we chose this park to hide our cache.
Lastly, I would like to thank my Team Reptile team - "Black Racer" and "Tree Frog". We had some fun with geocaching in the early years, but then adolescence occurred, and, well, you naturally drifted away from Diamondback Dad and geocaching and camping. I hope that someday you might find your way back.
