Geocache Description:

The posted coordinates take you to one native evergreen tree (A) found fairly commonly in this deciduous forest in the Piedmont section of the state. The second native evergreen tree (B) is found less frequently in this particular section of this forest. The coordinates to this tree (B) are: N. 33 58.663, W. 084 22.606 . To verify that you found the cache, e-mail me the common or scientific species name of each tree ("A" and "B") before you post your log. The objectives of this cache are to test your native tree identification skills and to introduce you to a relatively close-in Atlanta Metropolitan Area park with excellent hiking trails through scenic woods, including lake views. No new physical caches are currently allowed. This is a unit of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area and a three dollar parking fee is required unless you hold an annual CRNRA parking pass. Parking is at Latitude N. 33 degrees 59.079 minutes, Longitude 84 degrees 23.112 minutes. It will not be necessary to leave any of the trails until you are nearly at the location of tree (A) at the posted coordinates.

The National Park Service does not allow bicycles on any trails in this (the Gold Branch) unit of the CRNRA - updated on August 12, 2009.

This cache is one of 91 virtuals in Georgia. There is a Challenge Cache to find all 91 in GA (GC1V5MP).
