This is a fairly easy cache. The trail is paved and the terrain is moderate with a few gentle grade changes. Parking, picnic tables, benches, water, trash containers and toilet facilities are provided at the trailhead. The trail is wheelchair accessible.

This cache is on the SFA Interpretive Trail and Jack Creek Loop in the Angelina National Forest located at the US Forest Service Southern Research Station Wildlife Habitat and Silviculture Lab in Nacogdoches County, Texas. Stephen F. Austin University maintains the trail and surrounding 2,560-acre tract. The area is known as the SFA Experimental Forest (SFAEF).

There are two separate trails spanning 3.0 miles taking visitors into some of the most dramatic and scenic areas of the forest. Both loops are self-guided tours.
Jack Creek Loop is a .9 mile long surfaced trail which takes the visitor through a mixed forest where 100-year-old pines and hardwoods still stand stalwart against the rush of time. Jack Creek is a cool, clear, spring-fed perennial stream which serves as the centerpiece for this loop.
From the main entrance, drive along FS road 400 and follow the signs directing you to the parking lot. Start your search for the cache by taking the Jack Creek Loop to the left at the trailhead. Continue around the loop until you must leave the trail to find the cache. Underbrush is not bad and there is no need to bushwhack your way to the cache. After you find the cache, continue around the loop and return to the parking lot, or take the other loop for a longer walk.
The cache is a .50 caliber ammo can.
