Geocache Description:

One of several caches that we have placed in this great park. Located in the beautiful Oscar Scherer State Park and campground located right on US 41. Many well groomed trails available to walk, or bike on. This is a real Gem of a park and definite "Must Visit" spot. Trails range from .5 miles long to 5 miles long. There is an entrance fee to this park of $3.25 for each car.

This cache is named for our dog Maggie. The was the first geocaching she has done with us and she loved it.

We have already placed a cache on this trail (called Storm Runner). I felt this trail was long enough and interesting enough to set out another cache to entice people to try it. It is located on a 5 mile trail that winds through open areas and several hardwood hammocks along the way.

We thought we would make this one a multi cache to make it a little more interesting.

The first part of the cache is a micro cache in the form of a 35mm film canister. It is placed in a fairly easy find location. The coordinates listed are for the micro cache. Inside the micro are the coordinates for the final regular cache.

The second cache is a typical plastic container, painted camo with the usual type stuff in it. In order to get the coordinates for this cache, you must first find the micro.

The micro cache is placed only 15 feet off the trail and absolutely no trail blazing is needed to find it. The final regular cache is located roughly 200 feet off the main trail, but again, there is no need for any trail blazing.

Please observe all park rules while hiking through our state parks. Here is a link to the general rules of FL state parks: (visit link)

Remember: Cache in......Trash out!! Please help keep our beautiful parks clean!!
