Geocache Description:

Nice two mile hike (one mile each way) with a wonderfully surprising view at the end!

2016 update: Amazing - the cache is still here after being placed in 2003, even surviving the Witch Fire that turned this area into a moonscape in 2007. I came out to do some maintenance and the original trail head was difficult to find, but there are other trails in. It is still a fantastic view from up here, but you'll have to find your own way in now. You don't really need to bushwhack, there are trails, even one from the bottom of the mountain.

Note: November 2, 2007 - the cache survived the Witch Fire! It is now a shocking view of a moonscape instead. The trail is still there. See my November 2, 2007 log for more info.

Original note: this was my 'Father's Day Cache' that Rebecca hid for me at home. I followed her instructions around the house and was First To Find this cache container! We hope you enjoy finding it as well...

(For historic reasons, here is the original post from 2003:
This cache was inspired by Dan-oh's 'Split Rock' cache. You'll want to grab that cache as you pass it, then continue on for about a half mile to your Surprise View!
