Geocache Description:

Hello, Florida Geocachers! There is going to be a GEOPICNIC on Saturday January 31, 2004. This picnic is being hosted by HIKEMEISTER, HIKEMEISTER JR., SAND HIKER, GATOR MAN and GEO KID. It will be a meet and greet day with some games and lots of caching thrown in! There will be a LOG BOOK LOCATED AT THE PAVILION that you must sign in order to claim this event, IN ADDITION TO the day’s caches on the website.

The event will be held at Tequesta Park, County Line Rd., Tequesta, FL. It will happen all day long, starting around 10:00am. There is a pavilion here, which we have reserved. This event will happen rain or shine, hot or cold!

This park is PET FRIENDLY, but they must stay leashed, and you gotta do the cleanup thing!!! (Plastic bags provided at pet stations)

Also, alcholic beverages are not allowed in this park, and fires are allowed only in the designated area! There are other park rules, a list is by the front entrance.

Please bring your own food to eat for lunch. Bring something to share if you like, but don't feel obligated. A grill will be provided for you to cook your food (hotdogs, hamburgers, etc.). We have some Geogames being planned for your enjoyment and amusement. All geocachers young, old, beginner and experienced are invited. Meeting other Geocachers and having fun is the goal of this event.

We will have a table set up for a TRAVEL BUG SWAP. Bring all those bugs that have a need to travel, and most likely someone will be able to help them out. Please provide a printout of the travel bug's goal with the travel bug so we all know where it wants to go!

Also, a table will be set up if you have any old Geocaching equipment or Geocaching related items you want to sell or trade. You will be responsible for your own deals.

There are currently two caches in the park, with several more to be placed just before the GEOPICNIC: We will hand out information packets that will have a full description of these caches, and by the time you get home, they will be posted and available for your logs.

Due to SECRET schemes in the works, we don't want these released before then!

1. Tequesta Park Trail, Micro (Active)
2. The Twisted Wood, Regular (Active)
3. LOCK DOWN, Micro (To be activated appx. 2/14/2004)
4. STICKERS, Multi (To be activated on 1/31/2004)
5. Keep On Looking, Unknown (To be activated on 1/31/2004)
6. Home Run!, Micro (To be activated on 1/31/2004)
7. Toys, Toys, Toys, Regular (To be activated on 1/31/2004)
ALSO A NEARBY CACHE NOT INVOLVED IN THE SECRET ACTIVITY
8. It's Impossible!, Multi (To be activated on 1/31/2004)

There are MANY other caches nearby for the geocachers who have not visited our area yet. Try your luck before and/or after your meal. Use the Geocaching.com Maps option to find them all. I estimate there are 35-40 within a 5-mile radius. Several of them are inside Jonathan Dickinson State Park, which will cost you $4.00 per car to enter.

In order for us to get a ball park figure of the number of people coming, please POST A NOTE on this site to let us know you are coming, and how many people will be with you.

We’re already excited about meeting you all. Hope you can make it!

HM, HM Jr., SH, GM & GK
