Pineys Might Be Lurking Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

OReviewer: As there's been no response to the previous note, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

In 2001 this 439-acre Jersey City Watershed property was acquired by NJ Fish and Wildlife, the Morris County Parks Division, the MCMUA, Denville Township and Green Acres. It is now known as Jonathan's Woods. Additional properties have been added since 2001, making a total of almost 600 acres. This area is named ‘Jonathan’s Woods’ after an American Indian who legend says, lived on this property with his squaw. It is also believed that he is buried here.

This is a neat little area that has some great potential. Since it is a new park the trails are not fully maintained or developed (not blazed, no maps, etc), and there are issues with ATVs running wild through the area. Hopefully over time this will develop into a great hiking/biking area.

Since Pineys smell so, so, so, good please be sure to take in the wonderful scent; its spectacular! There is no need to trample little Pineys while looking for stage 1 (they have short tempers and can be down right nasty when perturbed), it can be grabbed without stepping on any Pineys, but you may have to walk through some weeds in season.

Even though this is a multi-cache its pretty straight forward; the cache is within .2 miles of the first stage. The only issue you may have is GPS reception in the area; I was able to receive a WAAS signal when planting the cache, but on a future visit I had an EPE of 60 ft. You might have to widen your search area a bit and remember there is no need to dig anything up!

The first stage is a Bison capsule, and final cache is an ammo container. The additional hints should be a dead give away, so don't use it unless you need it!

Note: Kindly re-hide both stages carefully. Thanks!
