Celebrate the Spring Equinox (March 20, 2004) by caching the day away. The event will begin and end at the Huntley Area Public Library.
The event is in the planning stages, but we wanted to get the word out now. There will be a continental breakfast and time to visit with other cachers from 9-10 a.m. At 10:00 the official event will begin. There are 36 caches in a 10 mile radius now and we'll be putting more out in the Huntley area. We'll meet back at the library at 4 p.m. to swap stories and hand out some prizes.
We will have coordinates for the caches we put out for that day on an Easy GPS program you can download. (All caches will then be listed on geocaching.com so you'll get to log all finds for the day.) We'll also have a print out of the new caches. You should download existing caches before the event. Someone will be at the library during the entire event so you may get the cache sheets at any time.
We'd like to put out a cahce in honor of the event so we're asking you to bring an item for a large cache container -- could be your signature item or anything else that is appropriate.
For our enterteinment pleasure, please bring a copy of your favorite cache log. It's always fun to read about others' adventures and misfortunes!
Please post notes on this site so we'll have an idea of the number of cachers to expect.
