yorkstan: Cache badly needs attention and I am unlikely to be able to do that in the near future, so I am archiving this cache

Geocache Description:

Located at Embsay Reservoir, just inside the southern boundary of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Embsay Reservoir is a favourite place for dog walkers (although there are sometimes sheep about).

If you have time, park in the centre of the village of Embsay and take a circular walk to the reservoir, over Embsay Crag and back down through Eastby to your starting point. This should take about 2-3 hours. There are three pubs in the two villages of Embsay and Eastby, all of which sell food.

For those with less time, park at the reservoir carpark and take either direction around the reservoir. The circular trip is about 1 mile.

The cache is a 1 litre tupperware box, with the usual contents. Since this is such a popular place with walkers, please take care not to be seen, and hide the cache well again afterwards!

October 2004: Sid and Frankies seat provides a nice resting place not far from this cache. The seat is dedicated to Sidney and Frankie Waterfall, Father of one half of "Frunc" from Northumberland. Sidney started Geocaching in his final 86th year and found that with a GPS in his hand he was able to walk further than he normally expected to.

Hope you like this spot, it was one of his favourite walks in later years.
