Located in Ding Darling Greenbelt Area by the Des Moines River.
Park in the Target parking lot at N41° 37.684' W93° 38.806'. Do not
wear nice tennis shoes.
This is located a ways back in the woods. There is a dirt/mud trail
for a good deal of the journey--take this for a scenic view of the
river. By this route, expect a one-way hike of about one mile. Or,
if you're feeling very adventurous, just follow the arrow on your
GPSr. Some of the bushwhacking is easy, with hardly any bushes to
whack, some is nearly impassible by humans, especially in
summer.
UPDATE, 01/23/2005: I have replaced the container because of
logs indicating that the cache was no longer watertight. The new
container is an ammo can, and due to its size, I had to hide it in
a different spot. The new hiding place is about 200 feet away from
the old, and is on higher ground. Hopefully, we can avoid flood
waters this year! If you found this cache once already before 2005
and care to visit again, feel free to log your next visit as a
another find!
