The cache is near the Lake Springs Recreation Area on Lake Thurmond.
From Augusta go north on Washington Road to Pollard's Corner. Turn right on US 221. At approximately 3 miles turn left on Lake Springs Road. At about .6 miles you will see a gated un-named lane on the left. Park there or on the side of the road. At about .7 miles at the utility pole on the right side of the road enter the woods about 30 feet and strike a White Blaze trail at 33 39.676N, 082 13.963W. Turn right on the trail for about 100 yards. Turn right on the Deer Crossing Trail (Red Blaze). Follow the Red Blaze toward the cache waypoint. The cache is about 50 yards off the trail toward the lake on a point overlooking Lake Springs Recreation Area on the left and the Augusta Sailing Club on the right.
The cache is an ammo box containing:a log book, a signal whistle, a "winner" ribbon, a fishing pole bell, compass, pill box, Zip fingertip pen, POW-MIA key chain, gold beads, big buck hunting club pin, mardi cras coin, 50cent piece from Aruba, regimental patch from WWII, and a Gerald Ford WIN pin.
