Geocache Description:

Off the Appalachian Trail on a short walk from a shelter from Gooch Gap.

This is one of five caches you can find in one days drive and walk on the Appalachian Trail if you know the Forest Service roads. If you want you can take two days on the trail and collect all five . This part of the mountains is very pretty with water falls and you can see for miles in the winter when the leaves are off. We saw eleven wild turkeys today up close. The trail hike is not hard and while you are there check out the 2nd shelter out from Gooch Gap. This is a two story type with covered table and a nearby water hole.
As always watch for the U.S.Army Rangers and their Hummers on the roads.
The cache is a .50 cal. green ammo can.
