Geocache Description:

In The Childrens Forest

This cache is hidden in the Children's Forest Close to the start of Lead piping from a natural spring that fed Esholt Hall, the lead pipes were laid in 1786.

Sir Walter Calverley built Esholt Hall in 1706, reputedly over the cellars of the dismantled nunnery. The hall and manor were sold in 1775 to Robert Stansfield and subsequently to Bradford Corporation in 1906. The grounds were utilised as sewage treatment works and the hall converted to offices, presently occupied by Yorkshire Water.
