Geocache Description:

This cache is located at the Fremont Lakes. Take Military west from Fremont and follow the signs to the lakes. The walk is not long from the parking area. In the warmer months, the will be some grass and brush to walk through, but it will not be severe. We recommend you park at coordinates N 41° 26.461 W 096° 33.046

You will be looking for a standard green ammo box. Please make sure you return the box to its hiding place when you are finished and please make sure no one sees you. We have placed some nice items in this cache, including two small plush animals, a sports watch, three 2-dollar bills, a Kennedy half-dollar, and much more. There are items for men, women, and children. We ask that geocachers who find this feel free to take something and leave something. There is also a log book and pencils. There is a picnic area nearby, so bring a lunch if you like.

Fremont Lakes: Three miles west of Fremont-20 lakes with over 666 acres-unsupervised sand-beach swimming, fishing, boating, water skiing, scuba diving, hiking, and excellent camping area. The Platte River, which borders the city to the south, provides cat fishing.

You will need a state park permit for vehicles to enter during summer months. In spring, late fall, and winter, no permit is required. You can buy a day pass for a small fee ($5) if you don't have a state park permit. During the off-season (late fall through early spring) they do not check for permits.
