A nice hike up a small mountain to a panoramic view of Lake Meade.
Black Mountain seems to be a fairly common name. There are 16 such mountains with geocaches. This past week I climbed Black Mountain in Henderson and Black Hill near the Railroad pass Casino. When I saw this Black Mountain on my TOPO map it looked like it would provide a panoramic view of Lake Meade. I was not disappointed. This viewpoint also gives a nice vantage point to look down onto the top of Fortification Hill.
We parked near the radio towers and hiked in. The initial cache contains a retractablr keychain, a slinky, 3 unisex urinals, a 12" world globe (some air required for assembly), a change purse, and a emergency battery for a cell phone. Be sure to sign the mountain top log in a nearby location.
