This cache is placed on a abandoned Army Air Base from WW II. The cache is hidden in a pretty neat area.
The directions to the cache area are as follows, take Highway 2 east of Alliance 2.2 miles, you should come to a paved road that goes south. There is also a historical Marker 50 yrds east of the intersection. This is the airport road and is marked as such. Go 2 miles south, there you will come a Skyview Golf Course sign, turn there and go east on that gravel road, go all the way to the curve go around the curve to the south that will get real close to the cache area, and from there you are on your own. The cache is in a Army Ammo Box. I do have permission from the city to place the cache where it is at. The Original Contents of the cache were: 1 cache log book, pencil, pen and sharpener, History Packet about the airbase, cache camera, swiss army knife, 5 army vehicles, Army National Guard Pencil, 18 Tan Plastic Army Guys, 21 Green Plastic Army Guys, Flag Pole and base, 2 yellow army barrels, 3 army road signs and 1 golf ball from the golf course across the way. This is a themed cache so if you want to trade, please trade for like items, But I am not too picky if trading items has some kind of military value, then good enough for me. If fellow Geocachers have a hard time with the Ammo Box that it is in, I will replace with a different box. But the trick is to line up the hinges on the hinge side of the box. Also I will be adding more history items as I get them. There is a Vets cemetery west of the cache location. There are old army ruins all over so take your time and look around. Just imagine it is WW II and this is a very busy place. 05/10/07 HAD TO REPLACE CACHE IT WAS MUGGLED AWAY. REHID IN A DIFFERENT SPOT. IF YOU PARK HERE YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO CROSS FENCE AND GET TO WALK THROUGH MORE OF THE RUINS WILL ADD THE HISTORY PACKET AS IT BECOMES AVAILABLE AND I GET TIME TO PUT IT INTO THE CACHE.
