This is a LETTERBOX. Aside from travelbugs, please do not take any items or leave any items. You will need to bring 1-A rubber stamp (any kind) 2-A rubber stamp pad to make an impression into the log book and to take an impression from the letterbox's rubber stamp for yourself, if you are interested. Otherwise, you can enjoy the artwork left by other letterboxers or the overall adventure itself, and review and add to the log!
Hike is short and easy, involves one short hill.
Pond is named after an old tool used by North American Indians.
It is a fishing area especially for angling largemouth bass, bluegill, and channel catfish. Trout are available seasonally. There is an area for picnics and grilling; Camping is NOT available at this site.
Once parked, find the answer to the following adventure question: How big is the Pond, when was is built and by whom?
Then: Down and counterclockwise around the pond. Locate the road clearing between the fourth and fifth fishing "D". Walk the road. Oh, my, could those be anthills on the left?? And what is that funky growth about halfways up that tall tree on the right (not a coniferous tree). Blink, Blink, Blink....arriving destination... Leave the road for about 7-8 paces/15-16 steps.
