Geocache Description:

A short hike of less than .15 mile on Grassy Dam Trail will lead you to the cache.

The parking location is the same as Chunk Change, Beaver Dam, Along the Trail, and Spring Cache.

Directions:
Turn off of Crab Creek road onto Dupont road, from Dupont Road Turn onto Sky Valley Road, continue on Sky Valley Road until you reach the parking area at coordinates N35 12.359 W082 34.812. Go behind the gate to the Grassy Dam Trail Trailhead. Follow the Grassy Dam Trail and your GPS should lead you to the cache location on the left side of the trail.

The cache is well hidden in a hollow stump less than 30 feet off the trail. The coordinates were very good and we could follow the GPS to the cache. From the cache location you will see what looks like an old and abandoned swimming pool definitely in an unexpected area. On May 29th, Grumpier99 showed me a picture of the pool that had been filled with rocks. I am sure without it being filled it did present a danger. The cache remains as placed.

The cache is a 16oz plastic jar with a blue lid that once held salted peanuts. It contains a log and a few small exchangeable items.

On 08/03/2012 we came out to replace the cache, and found the stump in which this cache was originally hidden, still there, but now laying several feet away, on its side. We moved the stump back where it used to be, and tucked the new cache in its original hidey hole. The stump is now laying on the ground, and still provides a nice, tidy, little hidey hole.

The parking location is the same as Chunk Change, Beaver Dam, Along the Trail, and Spring Cache.

Please remember that animals have a much keener sense of smell than we humans. Please do not place food, candy, gum, or any other scented items such as soaps, candles or "wipes" in the cache, as animals often mistake these items as food, and will destroy the cache container trying to get to it. Also, please hide the cache container so it is not visible, so that other geocachers may enjoy the hunt. - Thanks
