Geocache Description:

Many of you will get a chuckle out of the title. This cache is a spoof of another cache that was once near by. The cache is located in Settlers Cabin Park. Terrain to cache is flat till the very end.


There once in the summer of 2003 was a contest to hunt for a treasure. The “Lost Treasure of Brazil”, was lost, misplaced, found, and then stolen. If this treasure could talk it could tell many stories of treasure hunters and their ordeals to find this booty. Hunters staked out the park for days searching for it and learning of all paths that it could be on. Finally on the day the location was revealed, some of the hunters had their first run ins with the law over this treasure or lack there of on private property. In this case X did not mark the spot. After an even longer wait for the true location to be revealed; many where shocked to discover just how close they really came to claiming the prize. Well latter on in the summer after the treasure was mostly pillaged, a pirate came and stole the remainder of the treasure and the chest that held it. The treasure was lost for ever. This cache was also stolen in the spring of 2006. It was replaced on May 4, 2006 and moved a short distance from the original. I hope that everyone enjoys this cache and I look forward to reading the tales of the new treasure.
