Geocache Description:

Slap On Your Snowshoes

Snow Shoe Run is a winter friendly, dog friendly cache that will require a bit of effort to find.  The cache can be accessed in the winter best by snowshoes or your old rock skis. In the non-winter months it will be harder to access (but still doable) due to the many swamps and wet lands in this area.

I discovered this area while training for the Mad Trapper Snowshoe racing series held in Lowe Quebec. The terrain is unique in that the Huntmar Ridge is a large rough spine of rock filled in with lots of wetland.  It is a real shame that the area is slated for urban developed in the very near future.

The nearest parking that I have found to the cache is N 45 19.758 & W 075 58.253 . From this area you will need to use your own trail blazing skills to determine which of the many trails to utilize to get in the area of the caches hiding spot. The cache is 7” tall, 4” in diameter and is hid in a spot that is very accessible all year round.

The Ottawa Snowshoes Travel Bug will start their journey from this cache.
