Lon Morris is the oldest existing two-year college in Texas. It was chartered on January 15, 1887 & moved to Jacksonville in 1894 from Kilgore and to the present location in 1909. It is the only two-year Methodist college west of the Mississippi River and it is also the only surviving pre-Civil War school in East Texas. This cache is actually located near the college in Strother Park. Take your time to walk through the small but quiet campus, rest at the flowing brook, then head for the cache! The hint gives it away. For those who want a little challenge, I will leave out the critical part of the hint and say "Find the granite park sign "Strother Park" and you will find the cache 16 paces...."
