Cheney Lake Northeast Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Sparky-Watts: This is deceased. Went out a few weeks back to try to find it also, but couldn't after 45 minutes of looking. I'm guessing it was washed away in the flood. My apologies to Zacmacky for not archiving it sooner, I totally forgot to log in and take care of it.

Geocache Description:

Hidden in the timber NE of Cheney Lake

This is a nice walk through the timber or along the shoreline. For the best scenery and hiking, park at N37 46.760 W097 48.484 (depending on water level, those may put you in the lake, so get as close to those as you can without getting wet!). To reach the parking area, go to the "Red Bluff" area of Cheney Lake. Can be accessed off of Silver Lake Road, but that's no fun. Take Silver Lake Road to Kent Road, then south and back to the east for the parking area.

I saw several deer in the area, as well as a redtailed fox. There are a lot of beavers around here, as well, so keep your eyes peeled.

Cache is a .50 cal ammo box, camo painted and clearly marked as a geocache. Original contents include 2 toy cars, a digital clock, a suction cup windshield mount compass, emergency blanket, Marlboro brass money clip, Kansas EMICT (paramedic) lapel pin, "Ships Ahoy" travel bug, log book, pencil, and gc.com letter.

FTF Prize: Sarah McLachlan CD, new in package!!!

Good luck, and have fun!
