A short hike through sand: not very strenuous. There will be a
little climbing at the end. Attempt at your own risk.
This cache used to be "Devil's Hoofprint," but I've renamed it now
that its been moved. I've concealed the cache with some very large
rocks. You shouldn't have to move any of them to get to it, but you
will very likely have to squeeze through a tight space. Look around
thoroughly before you start moving rocks. You'll be glad you did.
After you find this cache, if you step 20 feet south and about 5
feet up the slope while facing north, you'll see the inspiration
for the name of this particular cache. There is an uncanny
sandstone skull about 13 feet tall guarding this spot. The best
reason to find this cache is probably just the hike in through
pristine and beautifully unspoiled desert sand. You can be far
enough from the neighboring towns to hear a bit of nothing, which
is getting to be a rare experience. However, since this site is the
site of the occasional drunken party, we would ask that anyone
visiting it would be kind enough to pack out a few pieces of
trash.
