Meals
Three meals will be provided for all participants (by Boy Scouts of
America Troop 84 - They have done the last 2 ''Flings'' and I know for a
fact that no one has gone away hungry or unhappy with the GREAT food) -
Saturday supper, Sunday breakfast, and Sunday lunch. You should arrange to
provide your own lunch for Saturday (and/or any earlier meals).
Registration / Pre-registration
Each individual participant (not team) must complete a registration
form and sign the waiver/release (click the Forms button below).
The fee for the weekend activities, including all three meals will be $15.00
per person ($7.50 for children 12 years of age and under) if paid by May 5th.
After May 5th the costs will be $20.00 and $10.00 respectively.
The Events
During the weekend, there will be events, games, and entertainment to
stimulate the most discerning pallet.
Hide & Seek III
(by
Darkmoon &
Missouri Okie) - Anyone may participate and you may bring more than one
cache if you like. For the finders, you may of course participate without
hiding a cache. Remember that there is no logging or trading during this
event. Sunday after lunch, the scores will be tallied and the awards given.
This is for fun so lets put or thinking caps on and show what devious and
creative caches we can come up with. Get a copy of the 'Hide and Seek' form
(click the Forms button below) and edit it if you'd like to
pre-make a copy to bring with you. You will have from Friday to Saturday at
11:00am to hide your cache. Which means you should plan to be at the park no
later than 10:00am on Saturday if you wish to hide a cache.
Gather Your Wits III
(by
Mr. TresOkies++) - Gather Your Wits will consist of a series of caches
to determine if you can survive by your wits. An array of questions about
navigation, history, geography, and mathematics will bend your brain. At
each cache you will be asked to perform some task to receive the coordinates
to the next cache. The task might be a puzzle to solve, a code to decipher,
or a trivia question. Each cache will lead to the next until the loop is
completed. Gather Your Wits will start at noon on Saturday at the Clear Bay
Point pavilion. Since all of the caches are in a continuous loop, we will
use a "shot-gun" start for this event to avoid congestion. Gather
You Wits will run concurrent to the other events and will conclude at noon
on Sunday.
Kids Game
(by
Mrs. TresOkies++) - The Kids Game will give the little ones an opportunity
to join in the fun. The Kids Game will feature geocaches just for the kids
with prizes in each one. These caches are in some of the same areas as the
Gather Your Wits caches, so take a break and let the kids hold the GPS!
**Prizes**
Although "the joy is in the hunt", a number of prizes will be awarded to
the participants of the events/games. Grand prizes not determined yet.
Prizes will be awarded by random draw so you don't have to be fastest,
strongest, or most clever to win. However, your chances to win will be
increased by your participation and success in completing the events.
