Sorta urban, sorta micro, definitly multi!
Anyone who has driven along Scottsdale Road north of Pinnacle Peak Road to the Carefree Highway will have noticed the signs and painted rock circles highlighting the local flora. These are a part of the Desert Foothills Scenic Drive, and stage one of this cache is located at an easily missed roadside display that is the beginning of the drive.
Visitors to our wonderful desert will find much information about the local flora and fauna of the area.
Long time desert dwellers might even learn a thing or two!
Stage one is a smallish container with the co-ordinates to the final container in the format N33º XX.xxx, W111º XX.xxx.
Stage two has some room for small trades, but contains only a logsheet and a pencil to start out.
***The final stage is located on State Trust Land.***
The State Land Department has no problem with this activity, but participants need know the following:
***A Recreation Permit ($15-$20) is required to legally access State Trust Land.***
***The fine for being caught without the permit is $500...think about it.***
These permits are easily obtained by phoning (602) 364-ASLD.
