Plant a Ceed Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Tufer & Tufer2: Our son experienced the same problem as Tigerlily today. The explanation was that the county couldn't afford to do the necessary clean-up work needed in this park and the woman he talked to had no idea when the park would be reopened to the public--or if it ever would. Therefore we have no choice but to archive this cache. Thanks to all who solved the puzzle---we enjoyed your comments. Tufer & Tufer2

Geocache Description:

Notice: The coordinates listed are not the coordinates to this cache!

These coordinates will take you to the Escambia County Extension Office, which is well over five miles away from the cache location. The people at the extension office won't be able to help you at all in finding this cache. However, if you need information about gardening of any sort, food safety and nutrition, the use of pesticides, or hurricane preparedness they can help you. Or you can go to their web site at http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu to find that information plus much more.

THE CORRECT COORDINATES TO THIS CACHE ARE ENCODED IN THE FOLLOWING TWO PARAGRAPHS.

Isn't it fun to find the right place to stash a cache? You drive around looking for some tranquil setting or an unlikely spot. Then you see something unusual or a scenic location and immediately know you've found it! Maybe it's a park that contains picnic tables and a barbecue grill. You imagine children scampering about and playing games while their parents are cooking on the grill unaware of a cache hidden nearby. Or maybe you chance upon one of those nice trails that have a box containing pamphlets with educational information concerning the trail. You're excited when you check it out and find a board walk or some benches where one can relax to sign the logbook.

Hunting for the place you'll hide a cache can be as challenging as following the coordinates to someone else's cache. You try to find a place that is accessible to the public and also choose a container that can be hidden there. Does it need to be a micro or an ammunition can? Should it be round or square, plastic or metal, camouflaged or covered or left in clear view? Will the cache be concealed on the ground or hanging in a tree? Then once the decisions have been made, the coordinates have been checked and the cache is in place it's time for the next step. Write up a description of your cache, submit it to geocaching for approval and watch the fun begin.

This cache is located in a county park that is open from 8 am to 5 pm. The gate is closed and locked promptly at 5 pm. A sign near the entrance suggests checking in at a nearby office, which is the older beige double-wide trailer. I would recommend doing that.

The cache is in a 12x12x12 plastic camouflaged container. Be sure to re-snap the lid tightly. Original contents are gardening related items: bulbs, seeds, small hand tools, gloves, etc.
