Geocache Description:

From the coordinates, proceed approximately 100 feet up the trail, which meanders in the northeasterly sort of direction. You will encounter a couple of fairly large tree trunks/limbs going over the trail. The trunk below has vines all over it. That trunk connects (just up the hill a bit) to another fallen trunk, which overlaps onto yet another dead trunk further uphill. It is near the uphill end of the 3rd trunk where this geocache lies.

Here is a chance for you to to enjoy an adventurous expedition to the less traveled portion of inner NE Manoa Valley.

The geocache is right next to that upper trunk about 3 feet from the uphill end of it. In other words, the cache is approximately 30-40 feet uphill from where those trunks cross over the path.

This geocache is a 2 gallon white paint bucket surrounded with a few small branches and with a couple of rocks on top to keep the lid closed. Artifacts originally placed here include such treasures as Steven Seagal videos, books, a small cowbell, a stuffed animal, priceless Hilo Hatties shell necklaces, foreign coins, a rare exquisite McDonalds Mickey Mouse toy, a hat, a figurine, a wooden Rhino and even more!

Unfortunately you will not find the Lost Ark of the Covenant here. You will have to search in Jerusalem or perhaps Ethiopia to find that. Nor will you find the Holy Grail in this geocache, but it does (originally at least) include a nice mug! Don't be hesitant to plunge into the foliage when need be. If, like Indiana Jones, you have an aversion to poisonous snakes, do not worry as there are none on the island.

Also for your reference, about 50 feet further NE up the trail from there the trunks cross there is a closed bridge. This whole area is thick rainforest so GPS readings are not the easiest to get. Take advantage of any clearings you encounter en route, stick your GPS way out there and hope for the best!

If you approach this from the Puu Pia trail, a steep downhill section will be involved with a so-so trail in which you will be grabbing small trees to slow your very steep descent. There are other trails involving less steepness that connect from west of Puu Pia. If you end up attacking this Geocache from the northeast and find yourself on the other side of the bridge, do not use it as it is unsafe. You can cross the stream without it (with a bit of creative effort.)
