Geocache Description:

THIS CACHE IS BY A ROCK FORMATION, THAT WHEN VIEWED FROM N38 55.975 W111 49.164 (LOOKING TO THE EAST), LOOKS LIKE THE OUT LINE OF A LION'S HEAD WITH AN OPEN MOUTH AGAINST THE SKY. THE CACHE IS IN AN AMMO CAN AND HAS A COUPLE OF ROCKS COVERING IT. IT IS A SHORT STEEP CLIMB. TAKE THE (FRONTAGE ROAD 300 EAST) FROM THE TOWN OF SALINA AND FOLLOW IT ALONG I-70 EAST BOUND. THE ROAD IS PART OIL AND PART GRAVEL, EASLY REACHED BY 2 WHEEL DRIVE.
A LITTLE FARTHER TO THE NORTH, ABOUT A BLOCK, YOU WILL SEE A RED HILL THAT HAS BEEN ESCAVATED. THIS IS KNOWN AS THE OLD BALL SALT MINE.
